WHO: The GREEN TEAM!!

WHAT: We will be hosting a Barn-Raising event, which is our effort to kickoff the Green Jobs/Green NY Bill, and a way to promote community involvement and impact of the bill.

WHERE: 37 South Ferry Street Albany , home of the Altamont Program, Inc., Professional
Treatment, Housing& Employment Services

WHEN: December 5th , 12:00 pm-5:00 pm

The event schedule is as follows;
1) Sign in 12 p.m. to 12.30 p.m.
2) Orientation 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
3) Weatherize project 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
4) Party and music 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

WHY: - Educate yourself on how to insulate your own home
- Volunteer! - Come help your community with this weatherization project
- Enjoy food and music with your community in celebration of this project

ATTIRE: Dress in warm clothes and clothes you are willing to dispose !

The point of our efforts is not just to get work done, but to pass on knowledge by sharing
information with the community on how they can air-seal and insulate their own homes. We want
to help move people more rapidly towards greater energy efficiency and reduce the impact
energy waste has on our environment.

We need volunteers for the event, donations for shirts, food, and materials. All volunteers

The GREEN TEAM, Getting Residents Energy Efficient Now, is a collaboration between The
Capital Region Workforce Development Center, the Altamont Program, Energy Management
Solutions, Arbor Hill Development Corp, Advanced Energy Panels, CL Construction, Workforce
Development Institute, Schenectady Youth Build, and Troy EcoSocial Center.

Sept. 24th Richard Florida on Creative Class

What: Richard presents his ideas on the "creative class," commercial innovation, and regional development have been featured in major ad campaigns from BMW and Apple, and are being used globally to change the way regions and nations do business and transform their economies.

Sept. 26th Harvest Fest Celebration of Local Farming, Community and Commerce


What: Day of community gathering and connecting.

Schedule:

1-3 pm

Local Lunch at Mouzon House, Release of 2010 Local Living Guide, Cooking demonstration and debut of Sara Pedinotti's Farmony project.

3-6 pm

Double up on Local Living Guide coupons, buy local!

6-11 pm

Locally grown Dinner, Music and Dancing at the Parting Glass. Presentation on Local currency from Berkshares program in Great Barrington, MA.

What: 1 hour presentation, 1 hour working meeting
